چکیده

Background Diagnostic studies using dynamic contrast enhanced (DCE) MRI perfusion imaging typically evaluate perfusion in terms of the myocardial perfusion reserve (MPR), which is the ratio of stress to rest myocardial blood flow (MBF) measurements. The aim of this study was to establish whether or not, in the case of absolute MBF quantitation, the MPR exhibits a diagnostic advantage over the stress MBF measurements alone.

Which quantitative perfusion estimation model is better at diagnosing myocardial ischaemia? A CE-MARC sub-study

Methods This was a retrospective sub-study using data from the CE-MARC trial (Greenwood et al., Lancet, 2012). A 50 patient sample of patients were selected such that the distribution of risk factors and disease status within the sample was representative of the full CE-MARC cohort. Quantitative myocardial blood flow (MBF) estimates were obtained from the MRI data using four previously proposed...

Detection of Cardiac Artery Disease by Using the DCAD (b) Module

Introduction: In patients with cardiac artery disease, a myocardial perfusion scan, which is a non-invasive method, is utilized. This study is conducted to develop an advantageous software applicable to quantitative myocardial SPECT perfusion. Material and Methods: Each cross-section of the left ventricle was segmented by applying a fuzzy clustering method. After obtaining the myocardial skelet...

Automated registration of dynamic contrast enhanced DCE-MRI cardiac perfusion achieves comparable diagnostic accuracy to manual motion correction: a CE-MARC sub-study

Background The human interaction required for manual motion correction/contouring of cardiac perfusion series remains a significant obstacle to quantitative perfusion gaining a wider acceptance in clinical practice. The use of image registration for motion correction in perfusion data offers a considerable time saving. Numerous registration methods have been proposed, with evaluation limited to...

Effects of depression on myocardial perfusion scintigraphy [Persian]

Introduction: The relationship between depression and coronary artery disease is well established; however assessment of this relationship using functional and semi-quantitative imaging (myocardial perfusion scintigraphy) was lacking. The aim of this study was to assess the relationship between the severity of depression and the severity of myocardial perfusion abno...

Two-day stress-rest lower limbs perfusion scan in patients referred for myocardial perfusion imaging

Introduction: Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD) is a major cause of morbidity and is associated with Coronary Artery Disease (CAD). We aimed to perform Lower Limb Perfusion Scan (LLPS) in patients referred for Myocardial Perfusion Imaging (MPI) and estimate prevalence of PVD in subgroups with normal and abnormal MPI results. We also compared quantitative indices of LLPS in pati...
